It would be hard to say that bovinova was a total failure. Four lightly overlapping tribes threw the mother of all cow roasts. In which a cow, six sheep, and a goat were cooked over an open fire. The equity partners started as friends ended as even better friends. Hundreds of people got fed and no one got food poisoning. Children were entertained. A band played great music. Fire breather knife tosser did his thing, safely
Failure of imagination?
Yeah. We made two MAJOR miscalculations. But we are self aware enough to realize it, and to fix em. Stat. So, for bovinova 2.0, we shall steer the boat with a weathered eye (&lightly scorched flag). We shall not make these mistakes again.
1. Rain delay plan b.
We had our backs against the wall with timing, and never actually though a spot of rain could be a big hairy deal for rugged guys like us. Trust me, after the second tent collapsed, we knew we couldn’t out wit the damn rain. Or out muscle it. We ended up huddling like drowned rats, muscling through what could only be described as a real challenging night of near biblical rains and wind. Not gonna make that mistake again. This year, we’re using the phrase ‘may 19, unless it rains again, then it’ll be may 26. ‘

Like, it’s gonna be on the first wave of swag, too. Lead with your glass chin, and if it’s too rainy, we’re not gonna do our plan A date. Mischief. Managed.
2. The moonshine. It’s a great way to start a fire, and a party, but it will knock a grown man on his ass. So this year, we intend to have a second shift of cold ass sober cooks come in around midnight. That’ll soften the blow of that demon rum. And that demon moonshine.
Okden, Failure of imagination? Sorta. we shall prolly make new mistakes, but not the old ones.
